The morning was fine but cold and breezy for the men’s November Medal on Sunday morning and 61 players took the field. Five men came in with nett scores in the sixties but the lowest of these by a considerable margin was carded by Dave Smith in Div.3 who scored an excellent nett 65 earning him a 2 shot handicap reduction. His gross score of 84 was only 2 shots adrift of the winner of Div.2, Mike Chivers who topped that division with a nett 69. The top 2 players in Div.1 both score a gross 77 but the winner with a nett 68 was Dave Franks who nudged Gavin Gay into the runner-up spot by way of his one shot higher handicap.

Saturday saw ladies playing a qualifying Stableford in warm pleasant conditions
1st Janie Dowling 34 points and the runner up ocb was Julie Woodruffe also on 34 points.
Unfortunately Autumn came with a vengeance on Tuesday, although the rain held off the wind was bitter and for the first time in ages we were all well wrapped up. We played a game called ‘cocktail’ when three different formats are played over 18 holes rather than a Mojito or warming hot toddy that would have been very welcome!
The winners with 38 points were Roseanne Bonfield and Sue Pollock ocb from
Maureen Hicks and Viv Gill also 38, third place went to Di Stothard and Pat Baldwin on 34 points and the last of the prize winners were Heather Chapman and Margaret Thompson who also had 34 points but lost out on count back.
