BRIDPORT BOWL 2019
Round 1 Groups of three, each with one home, one away tie (tie = fixture; match = individual game in a tie). Final positions to be decided on a) ties won; b) matches won; c) net holes up.
Top of group plays in the Bridport Bowl; runner-up in the West Dorset Jug
Matches are conventional format: match ends wherever one player is more holes up than he has left to play. All square after 18 is a halved match.
Round 2 Winning teams are seeded into the draw on the basis of performance in round 1.
The best team plays the 16th, 2nd the 15th, with the top 8 having home fixtures.
Matches are in traditional Bowl format. Any match finishing all square after 18 should play to a finish unless the result of the tie is already determined.
Quarter finals Ties to be played home and away, with the combined match score determining the winner. In the event of a draw, the team winning the last played match wins the tie.
Conventional format, as round 1.
Semi-finals Ties to be played on neutral venues, either one of the other semi-finalist courses or Bridport & West Dorset.
Traditional Bowl format, as Round 2.
